A customer at the Robeks smoothie store in Cincinnati was recorded throwing a smoothie at an employee in a viral video that first appeared on TikTok.
As reported by the Independent and released in a statement from the Fairfield Police Department, James Iannazzo ordered his son suffering from severe peanut allergies. There is a disagreement between the staff and Iannazzo about whether he specifically stated that no peanut butter should be in the drink.
After her son suffered a stroke and was rushed to the hospital, Iannazzo returned to the store.
In the now-deleted video, which has garnered more than 16 million views on TikTok, the man asks staff who made the smoothie before attempting to break the staff-only entrance.
Staff told an angry father they did not know who made the drink and asked Iannazzo to submit a complaint to the business office. The man continues to throw a drink that hits the ‘blue hoodie girl’ on the shoulder.
James Iannazzo’s lawyer told Newsweek he was “deeply saddened by his statement and action during a time of great sorrow”.
